St Anne's Music

The St Anne’s Church Choir is looking for new members to join the choir in its regular schedule of Sung Masses on Sundays and feast-days.

The Clifton Organ

St Anne’s Church has one of the most historically significant organs in Western Australia as its principal liturgical instrument.

The Clifton organ, built between 1895 and 1903 by Robert Cecil Clifton (the first organ builder in the Swan River Colony) for his residence on Adelaide Terrace in Perth, is the largest Clifton organ to survive in more-or-less original condition. It is one of only four mechanical action organs in Catholic churches in Western Australia (the others being St Cecilia’s, Floreat, Trinity College Chapel, East Perth, and the Monks’ Chapel, New Norcia). The organ is played at the 9:30am Solemn Mass on Sundays (except in Lent and Advent).

The organ’s history and specification have been documented by the Organ Historical Trust of Australia.

St Anne’s Church Choir Expressions of Interest

The St Anne’s Church Choir is looking for new members to join the choir in its regular schedule of Sung Masses on Sundays and feast-days. The only requirements are an interest in learning more about Gregorian Chant, sacred polyphony and their essential connection to Catholic liturgy. Rehearsals are held 30 minutes before Mass (and occasionally at other times in the lead-up to major feasts). For more information, please email stannebelmont.music@gmail.com
